Our assessment process is designed to understand the full learning profile of each learner across academic, language, behavioral, and functional skills. While we use structured tools such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, and EFL when appropriate, our evaluations extend beyond developmental frameworks to include reading, writing, speaking, comprehension, and overall academic performance.
We do not always begin with formal testing. For learners who need time to feel comfortable with new adults, we prioritize pairing and relationship building before conducting structured assessments. This allows us to gather accurate information while respecting assent and emotional readiness.
Our goal is not to delay teaching. We conduct focused and efficient assessments to identify missing tool skills and weak component skills that may be affecting larger integrated skills, both academic and non-academic. These may include reading fluency, written expression, problem-solving, independent learning, toileting, showering, dressing, play skills, communication, and daily living routines. We support learners with varying developmental and learning needs, as well as those experiencing academic or language challenges.
Once gaps are identified, we move quickly toward clear and practical program recommendations that support progress across home and school environments.

At TLC, program development is a collaborative and thoughtful process. We take time to understand the goals, hopes, and priorities of both families and schools, and we work closely with them to design a plan that reflects what truly matters for the learner.
We break down larger goals into achievable tool and component skills, beginning exactly where the learner’s current skills start to break down. By strengthening these foundational areas, we create a pathway toward meaningful, real-life outcomes such as independent learning, academic progress, communication, social confidence, and daily living skills.
Our programs are carefully individualized. We draw from a range of evidence-based protocols and curricula to create the right combination of strategies and targets for each learner. We support children, adolescents, and young adults across home and school environments, always prioritizing clarity, collaboration, and learner assent throughout the process.

Our parent training services are designed to provide structured and practical guidance that supports your child’s development within the natural routines of home and community life. Each session is thoughtfully planned and interactive. We coach parents directly, model strategies, and practice together. Parents practice strategies during the session and learn how to use them at home in a consistent and supportive way.
We also support parents during school meetings and help them navigate school expectations, plans, and decisions. Our goal is to ensure families feel informed and confident when communicating with educators and planning the next steps for their child. Training is provided in person to ensure close collaboration. When travel or vacation schedules arise, support continues through online sessions so families can maintain consistency and receive guidance as they continue working with their child.
Our goal is to help families feel supported and confident while ensuring the child remains happy, engaged, and progressing throughout the day.
Training and support are available in English, Arabic, and French.

We provide structured training and supervision for therapists and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) working directly with learners in home and school environments. When therapists or LSAs are hired independently by families or schools, our role is to train and guide them in implementing individualized programs accurately and consistently. We focus on clear teaching procedures, correct program implementation, meaningful skill development throughout the day, and accurate data collection. We help professionals understand the purpose behind each target so they can teach with clarity, confidence, and intention.
Training includes in-session modeling, performance feedback, structured supervision meetings, and on-site support within schools or nurseries to ensure alignment between program design and daily practice. We emphasize ethical practice, learner assent, and professional accountability in all supervision and training.
TLC may also provide direct tutoring or therapy services under separate arrangements. However, we do not operate as a staffing agency for full-time LSA placement within schools.

We provide structured support to schools and nurseries to help create inclusive, well-organized learning environments that meet the needs of diverse learners. Our services include guidance with school placement decisions, curriculum modification to match a learner’s current skill level, and the development of social skills programs within classroom settings. We work closely with inclusion teams, class teachers, and school leadership to ensure expectations are realistic, measurable, and aligned with each learner’s abilities.
We also assist with LSA recruitment, role clarification, and ongoing supervision to ensure effective classroom implementation. In addition, we deliver staff training workshops designed to equip educators with practical strategies for supporting learners who may be falling behind academically or socially, as well as those with varying developmental and learning needs. Attendance Certificates Attested by KHDA are provided for eligible workshops.
Our goal is to strengthen collaboration between families and schools, ensure programs are clearly documented and reported, and create sustainable systems that support long-term student success.
Schools and nurseries interested in in-house training opportunities or parent coffee morning sessions are welcome to contact us to discuss how we can support your community.
